Image compressor
Make JPEG, PNG and WebP images smaller and see exactly how much you saved.

JPEG, PNG and WebP · up to 20 images, 25 MB and 40 megapixels each
Applies to JPEG and WebP: lower means smaller files with more visible artefacts. PNG files are optimised without any loss, so quality does not apply to them.
How it works
Images are compressed in a background thread in your browser and never uploaded.
- JPEG and WebP are re-encoded at the quality you choose (lossy). The image is rotated upright first if the camera recorded a rotation. Re-encoding removes metadata such as the camera model and GPS location.
- PNG is optimised without any loss: every pixel stays exactly the same, transparency is kept, and so is any metadata stored in the file.
- Honest results: the saving shown is the real difference in file size. If an image cannot be made smaller, you are told so and no download is offered.
- Limits: up to 20 images at a time, each up to 25 MB and 40 megapixels. Animated images are not supported, because compressing them here would keep only the first frame. Some phones have less memory and may not process the largest images.
For much smaller files, convert photos to WebP or AVIF with the image converter.
